I’m This, I’m That
"I'm this, I'm that," the title of a song written by the composer Moondog, became my metaphor for approaching this exhibition. It captures how I've come to understand this current body of work. Over the past two years, I've permitted myself to move freely between figuration and abstraction, forsaking the constraint of conceptual consistency. Instead of anchoring the work to a singular thematic sequence, I allowed the continuum of time; impulse and my various influences to break free to explore whatever grabbed me in the moment. 2022
