Before My Very Eyes
This current body of work, “Before My Very Eyes” is both a continuum and an evolution of elements from my earlier paintings, reimagined and repositioned as a point of departure or just another rabbit hole to explore. With a focus on a more saturated palette, formal arrangements and a recent obsession with triangles and other odd shapes, I sought to deepen my sensibilities and understanding of where I’ve been and where I might go. The act of searching for a compelling image and wrangling with the complexities is both a struggle and a joy. “Before My Very Eyes” depicts what it feels like when a conclusion of sorts finally arrives.
